Support Worker (Bexhill) Utopia Children's Home Provision

Key responsibilities will include

  • Ability to successfully care for Looked After Children in a residential childcare environment
  • General housekeeping and preparing food
  • Good level of IT skills to complete the necessary paperwork
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise and multitask
  • Display professionalism and liaise with local professionals and local authorities regularly
  • Display empathy and understanding when liaising with families
  • Proactivity and able to use initiative
  • Key working skills
  • Ability to engage with children with emotional, behavioural and psychological difficulties as a result of adverse childhood experiences, mental health issues, domestic abuse, substance misuse, sexual abuse and learning difficulties
  • Affectively supporting children in the community, cinema trips, swimming, theme parks, supported shopping etc.


Training and Qualifications:

  •  Childcare: 1 year (required)
  • Have or be willing to work towards a Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Mandatory training modules will be provided
  • Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and OFSTED Regulation is desirable but not essential
  • Minimum required working age of 21 years
  • Experience of working in a similar setting is desirable however, not essential


Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
  • Majority of shifts available are 07:30-15:30 and 14:30-22:30 between Monday-Sunday (including some bank holidays). 
  • Possible sleep-in required and paid additionally

£25,000 per year (based on full time 40hrs per week) pro rata

Wake Night Support Worker (Bexhill) Utopia Children's Home Provision

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • You will be required to work on a rolling rota with a fixed shift pattern of two nights on, two nights off. You will start at 21:00 PM and finish at 08:00 AM and receive regular days off. Our rotas are from Monday-Sunday and include bank holidays.

Do you have experience of working with children who may have had traumatic backgrounds, emotional & behavioural difficulties, childhood trauma and complex behavioural needs or do you have caring, empathetic & supportive qualities that you feel may make you an excellent support worker, if so, we would love to hear from you.


Our recruitment process aims to create and maintain a safe workforce and contains robust vetting procedures. The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and enhanced DBS check and undertake induction programme, full training and shadow shifts provided alongside support from your Team Leaders and managers.
